If possible, hire a consultant to be conducting an audit or follow-up activities. It is advisable to hire one who is an NPA’s certified GMP contract manufacturers auditor. Make contact with an authorized GMP auditor prior to the main auditing if you cannot manage to hire an individual who will be permanently employed. Carry out a complete third party auditing which must have an “A” result of all GMP manufacturing companies’ requirements. The third party audit is carried out by the GMP certified auditor. Once your company has successfully carried out the auditing and achieved an ”A” result, the auditor then forwards his or her recommendations to NPA for certification. NPA will then review the recommendations from the auditor. If the recommendations are satisfactory, NPA will forward a letter to your company describing all the terms of certification. In turn, the company returns the letter having signed it to ratify the agreement together with a small certification fee.

The company’s period of certification is two years as long as it ensures compliance with GMPs regulations, stays as an NPA member with desirable standing, and always pays the annual fee. NPA GMP contract manufacturers endorsed companies must always be re-audited again after a term to ensure they maintain good manufacturing practices. Program fees met to NPA include a registration requirement of $250 and a yearly certification amount of $1,000.The cost of a third party audit is always under the jurisdiction of the company and audit companies. Most audit companies charge their fees according to the size of the company and the number of days they will take to do their audit. Big companies will definitely pay more because with size, come so many other factors that will lengthen the period of time it will take to exhaustively conclude the auditing process.
